Tired of having hair falling into your face? Want to have your hair back and away but still have it down and not in a ponytail? Our bandfall wigs are the perfect solution!

Let's face it. There are times when you just don't want all that hair in your face (or down by your shoulders!). You want it up and out of the way, but still want to feel cute and great about your hair.

Enter the bandfall wig. These wigs are a must for many reasons so are a great standby to have in your closet for times of need.

These are perfect for:

  • Running errands (Hello Sunday afternoons!)
  • Lounging around the house
  • Working when you have a job that requires you to be up and moving around a lot
  • Those days you just don't want to deal with hair. Period.

Best of all, because these wigs are 100% wefted, this means they will last FOREVER. As long as they're treated with care, this is one piece you'll have in your closet for years to come.

Let's talk cap details, shall we?

At Madison, we're ALL about comfort. As wig wearers ourselves, nothing is worse than putting on your wig in the morning and feeling like you're already counting down the minutes until you can tear it off.

This cap is designed with that in mind.

You'll get:

  • Our ultra soft luxurious fabric that's designed to keep you cool as the temperature heats up or keep you warm as the snow begins to fall. It's autoregulatory nature is one of the top reasons we've chosen it for the caps of our wigs. Did we mention it feels like silk against your delicate skin?
  • Grippy silicone at the front, nape and throughout the top. This means no wig grips necessary.  The fact is, wig grips add bulk (making your wig look more wiggy), add unnecessary layers (can we say hot?!), and can be a pain in the butt to work with sometimes. With this wig, it's put on and go. That's it. It's that easy. These wigs can work with or without bio hair - you do not need to be bald to wear them.
  • Adjustable straps on the outside of the wig. We're all about the details and while most wigs of this nature put adjustable straps on the inside, we've put them on the outside. Why? This way, those clips will never dig into your skin (again, we want you comfortable!) and this also ensures that the silicone in the nape grips as best as possible). These straps will be fully covered by your headband, so there's no worrying about others noticing you're wearing this wig.

QUICK TIP: if you want the absolute BEST wig to conceal the fact you're wearing a wig, these are it. There are no 'wig giveaways' to worry about when you have this wig on.

These wigs are very similar to our ponytail wigs with the only difference being they don't have upside down wefts in the bottom of the wig like the ponytail wigs do. That means these wigs are meant to be worn down instead of up (although they can still go in a low ponytail if you desire).

Please note that these wigs DO need to be worn with a headband as this is what covers the rim of the wig. They can be worn while you blend in your own bio hair at the front and sides or you can bring the wig right up to the hairline and wear it as-is with your headband. We recommend a headband at least 1.5" wide to ensure full coverage.

We hope you love these wigs as much as we do!

FAQ

Can a bandfall and hat wig be worn in a ponytail?

Yes! So a bandfall and a hat wig can be worn in a low to mid height ponytail. They cannot be worn in a high ponytail however - that can only be achieved with the pony wig.

The reason for this being the pony wig has wefts sewn in a circular manner, which allows for a very high ponytail/bun.

Both the hat wig and the bandfall have a normal wefting pattern with the wefts pointing downward, so achieving the high ponytail isn't possible.

We always recommend clients think about whether they want the option to wear their hair down or not. If they do, then a bandfall or hat wig is probably a better choice, however they will need to sacrifice being able to do the high pony.

If having a high pony is an absolute must for you, then you'll want to opt for the pony wig, but realize you won't be able to wear the hair down.

Or do like some clients do and get both a pony wig and a bandfall in matching colors so you can get the best of both worlds.

Do the bandfall/hat wigs fit the same as the pony wig?

So even though the measurements for all three varieties of active wigs are the same, we do personally find that the pony wigs fit a bit more snug.

This is simply due to the nature of the wefting along the circumference of the wig and it having a bit less stretch the full way around (it still stretches in the nape, but not along the sides).

Generally it is good for pony wigs to be a bit tighter so they stay on nice and secure. However, if you are someone who really wants to wear a wig grip with your wig (not necessary with our active wigs in case you're wondering), then you'll want to keep that in mind as it may mean you'll need to go up a size. The wig grip will add extra bulk and may make the sizing too small.

Likewise, if you're right at the cusp of a certain size being too small, if you're purchasing a pony wig, you may wish to size larger to prevent it from being overly tight.

How wide of a headband is needed for the pony and bandfall wigs?

The rim on these wigs is very thin so you don't need that thick of a headband at all. 1" should be sufficient to cover the rim just fine.

However do keep in mind some poeple like having a bit of extra width just in case the headband does move a bit - so the wig rim never risks being exposed.

Likewise, consider the look you're going for. With the pony wig, if you want a headband to cover the ear area (which will be extra important for those with no hair or with buzzed heads) so you don't notice the lack of sideburns, you'll want to turn to a thicker headband as well.

We've found that we prefer wearing a thicker headband with the pony wigs and a thinner headband with the bandfall wigs. But this is totally a personal preference and up to you!

Will the pony wig stay on for upside down activities?

While we aren't regularly doing back flips or headstands in our pony wigs, we have had clients go on roller coasters just fine with the pony wig.

Here are a few things to keep in mind.

1. The better the wig fits you (it's nice and secure without being too tight), the greater the chances it'll stay on by itself.

2. If you want EXTRA security (think fast roller coaster or lots of upside down work), you may want to also opt for a wig grip. While our wigs don't need wig grips and we personally never wear them, having one for an extra layer of security isn't a bad plan in some instances.

3. The longer length of pony wigs (22") will often not feel quite as secure as the shorter pony wigs (20") simply because there is more weight to the hair that is pulling on the cap. Styling the hair in a bun (rather than a ponytail) will help some as then the weight is centered on top of the cap versus pulling down from the end of the ponytail).

So if you're really concerned about security, make sure the fit is right, opt for a shorter pony wig and style it in a bun, and add a wig grip as well.

All in all, we've never had a report of a pony wig flying off a customer's head so you should be just fine!

Can I wear a hat wig with a headband?

Typically we don't recommend this because the headband would need to be exceptionally wide to cover the top of the wig (where there is no hair) that it would make it very hard for the hair to lay properly down by the sides.

Hat wigs are limited to accessories that fully cover the top of the head (ball caps, beanies, toques, or bandanas/wraps).

Can I wear a bandfall or pony wig with a hat?

While technically you could wear a bandfall or pony wig with a hat, please keep in mind that this won't be much different than wearing a regular wig with a hat because you'll still have a lot of excess hair bulk under that hat.

This can make it warmer and not look quite as streamlined as it would with a hat wig.

The hat wigs are designed to remove the hair under where the crown of the hat sits so it's nice and thin - which keeps you cooler and avoids unwanted bulkiness.

Perhaps the only benefit to using a hat with a bandfall or pony wig versus a lace or silk top wig is there is no worry about the hat tugging on the delicate top section of the silk or lace. This would then make a for a more durable situation.

All in all though, if you want to optimize how you look with your hat, we do recommend a hat wig instead.

Are the wavy active wigs naturally wavy or permed?

Unless it states that they are naturally wavy, all of our wavy active wigs are steam permed.

This means they will dry with some natural wavy (as shown in the product pictures).

Please keep in mind that over time and with consecutive washes, they may start to lose some of this wave.

By using a steam perm rather than chemical perm, this helps to preserve the quality of the hair better, especially when coupled with color treatments.

How can I be sure which color to order?

Selecting your color is probably one of the trickiest parts of ordering hair online.

We do our very best to try and portray colors as accurately as possible however unfortunately lighting can play a significant role in how a color looks, as well as the cameras and computer screens the images are viewed on can further alter color rendering.

Please look at the pictures and read the color descriptions prior to ordering. If you need further assistance, please contact us to help guide you.

Please be aware when ordering that colors may vary from what you saw online and restock fees do still apply to all returns.

If I'm between sizes, which size should I order?

This tends to be a personal preference as to whether you'd prefer to error on the side of the wig being a little too small versus being a little too big.

For bandfall and hat wigs, the circumference can stretch and also be taken in, so pay closer attention to the ear to ear and front to nape measurements, getting as close as you can to the correct sizing there.

After that, the circumference can likely be adjusted some to accommodate. If your circumference is quite a bit larger though and you tend to get headaches easily, then it may not be wise to opt for the smaller size and the bigger choice could be preferable.

Are your wigs human hair?

Yes! All of our products are made from the highest grade Mongolian human hair.

The hair is remy hair (meaning the cuticles all face the same direction) and is double drawn.

This allows you to style it as you please with heat. We do recommend however being mindful not to put it on the hottest setting to help preserve the lifespan of your wig and keep your color looking good for as long as possible.

Can I color my wig?

Yes! Because your wig is human hair, you can color it. However please note, as this hair has already been colored once (with the exception of our natural black wigs), we recommend that you only darken the wig and not try to lighten it by bleaching the hair.

If you proceed with bleaching your wig, again with the exception of the natural black color, you may severely damage the wig to the point it's unable to be worn.

How can I style my wig?

You can style your wig with any hot tool you please - curling iron, curling wand, flat iron, or a beach waver.

We recommend using a heat protectant on the hair prior to styling, keeping your heat setting around 325-350 degrees, and not holding the hot tool on the hair on any one spot for too long.

How often do you restock wigs?

We try and restock within 8-12 weeks after a wig has sold out however sometimes it may be sooner or later than this depending on our current production schedule for other colors/lengths, etc.

How long will my wig last?

As there are many factors that can impact how long a wig lasts, it's impossible to say for sure.

However, active wigs tend to be the most durable type of wig you can purchase because they have no silk or lace and are fully wefted. Wefts are very strong and there is a much lower risk of shedding with such a piece.

If you take proper care and maintenance of your wig and aren't letting it get excessively tangled (to the point where it sheds when coming), these active wigs should last 1-2 years or longer if not using daily.

As blondes are more processed however, their lifespan may be shorter.

Note that we cannot guarantee a timeframe and these are estimates only.

How often do I need to wash my active wig?

This will vary considerably depending on what you are doing in your active wig and how much you personally sweat.

The hair on the pony wigs tends to get less dirty than wigs worn down because they're tucked up away from everything all day long. This may allow you to go longer without washing them.

This said, if you're wearing your pony wig to exercise and are sweating heavily, you'll want to wash the wig more frequently so the cap doesn't start to smell.

The great thing about the active wigs is you don't need to be quite as careful when washing as you don't need to worry about any damage to lace during the washing process.

How often you wear the active wig will also factor into how often you wash it. Someone wearing it daily will need to wash it more often than someone wearing it on the weekends for a few hours only while running errands.

If you're wearing it often and/or sweat heavily, washing it once every 1-2 weeks is recommended.

If you aren't wearing it as often and aren't sweating heavily, you may get away with washing it every 4-8 weeks.

A good way to tell it needs a wash is if the cap starts to smell or just doesn't feel as fresh and/or the hair isn't moving as nicely as it did when you got it or is tangling easily.

My wig is feeling dry. What should I do?

Wigs do not receive the natural scalp oils like your own hair does and over time, this can impact how dry they feel.

Likewise, lots of heat styling and choosing a color that is heavily bleached (ie. the lightest blonde colors) will also lead to increased risk of dryness.

To help combat this, we recommend applying a light oil when it's feeling a bit on the dry side. You don't want to overdo the oil, but at the same time, a light coating every month or two (depending on how often its washed) can help.

How should I store my wig for daily use?

We recommend that you store your wig on a mannequin or foam head that is the same size, or preferably smaller than your own head.

Please keep in mind that wigs can stretch over time and if you store your wig on a head that is larger than your own, this can lead to it stretching out over time.

We also recommend that you store it away from areas that are prone to a lot of humidity (such as in the bathroom) as well out of direct sunlight, which can alter the color of your wig.

How should I store my wig for long term storage?

If you don't plan to wear your wig for a while for whatever reason, we recommend either storing it in the box it came in, or storing it in its silk bag (which comes with your wig) and in a plastic shoe box.

Please keep the wig out of direct sunlight as this can cause the color to change.

How do I wash my wig?

We recommend the following steps when washing your wig.

1. Fill a large sink with warm water (not hot) and add in some salon grade safe-for-color treated hair shampoo. Swirl the shampoo in to disperse.

2. Comb the wig out to ensure there are no tangles.

3. Place the wig in the sink and work the water/shampoo through the wig. Avoid rubbing the hair together but rather, run hands through the wig to clean.

4. Remove from sink and squeeze (not twist) out excess water.

5. Repeat the process, this time using color safe conditioner instead.

6. Fill the sink up one last time with clean water and then rinse. You can also rinse the wig under the tap. If doing so, we recommend that you let the water run through the cap down to the ends of the hair (so the water runs in the same direction you'll comb it). This will further help prevent tangles.

7. Towel blot the wig to remove excess water.

8. Either let the wig air dry completely before combing it or very gently, use a wide tooth comb to lightly comb through and then let air dry.

Note: Hair is more prone to breakage when wet (especially blondes) so comb very lightly when the hair is wet from washing, if doing so at all.

We also recommend you ensure you don't place the cap on a mannequin stand to dry that's larger than your own head or you will quickly stretch out the circumference of the wig.

My wavy wig doesn't seem to be wavy. Help!

If the wig is relatively new, it probably just needs a reset. This is especially the case if you're first taking it out of the box as sometimes some of the waves are lost when its packaged.

To reset it, simply wet the wig down, lightly comb with a wide tooth comb and then lay it onto itself, forming waves as you plop it on the ground.

Let sit there for about 15-30 minutes and then hang to dry on a mannequin head/stand that is smaller than your own (to avoid stretching the cap).

You may scrunch it upon hanging initially to help really set in that wave. Once air dryed, the waves should appear stronger.

Please keep in mind that since the waves are steamed permed and not natural wavy hair, they will lose some of their wave over time with wear and multiple washes. So if the wig is older, this may be just what's happening.

The hair can still be heat curled as you desire.

What products can I use on my wigs?

You can use any high quality (salon grade) styling product on your wigs as it is human hair.

We always recommend trying to use products for color treated hair whenever possible.

Also please keep in mind products containing alcohol can dry out the hair, so avoid these whenever possible.

Likewise, you'll want to avoid putting too many products on the hair or this can cause product buildup over time and cause the hair to not move and feel as it should.

Since you aren't washing the wig daily like you would your own hair, products really only need to be applied sparingly right after washing and on an occasional basis between washes.

Can I sleep in my wig?

Yes, if you wish to sleep in a wig, the active wig is the best wig to do so in as it's very durable.

This said, hair can still get tangled so we recommend placing it into a ponytail or braid for sleep and if possible, use a satin pillowcase when sleeping to reduce unwanted friction with the hair.

What is your return policy?

At Madison Hair, we want you to be happy with your purchase! If for whatever reason, you are not completely satisfied with your wig, you have 3 days (the day you receive it is day 1) to send it back for a return. If your third day is on a Sunday, please email us on or before that Sunday to tell us you need to return and you will have a one day extension to mail it on Monday. Your return will be processed 2 weeks from the time we receive it.

Here are the need-to-know details. Please read carefully as there will be NO exceptions.

~ When sending your wig back, please do NOT request a signature. Doing so may delay return processing by up to two weeks in addition to the normal processing time or result in the wig going back to you. If you wish, insure your wig instead. Any packages sent COD will be rejected and returned to the sender.

~ Your wig must be sent back in the condition it was received. This means the the hair has not been washed or heat styled, and all packaging material is in place. This includes the silk bag as well as the hair net the wig comes in. Each item will be inspected before the refund is given.

All returns for any reason will incur a $100 return fee. This fee covers the non-recoverable costs encountered with your purchase including payment processing fees, your prepaid shipping label, as well as the costs to prepare the wig back for sale.

Any shipping that was paid during the transaction is also non-refundable.

Without a restock fee, we unfortunately would need to raise our selling price quite substantially in order to account for these losses so the restock fee does help us offer you the lowest selling price possible.

Hopefully this helps you better understanding what and why we charge restock fees. :) We realize they are an unfortunate part of shopping online but do appreciate your understanding as they are a necessary part of running our business and being able to offer you the best selection of products to choose from.

Any wigs marked 'Final Sale' are non returnable. If for whatever reason you mail your final sale wig back to us for a return, you will be required to pay the shipping costs incurred to get it back to you.

~ We do NOT offer a cancellation policy. If you cancel your order prior to it being shipped out, a 5% cancelation fee will apply. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee that we see the email to cancel prior to it being shipped. If the piece IS shipped out, it will fall under our normal restock fee policy. Please be very certain about your order prior to making it.

~ At this time we do not offer exchanges. You are welcome to purchase another product that may work better, however the restock fee does still apply as there are costs associated with every purchase we do not get back regardless of whether it's returned or exchanged.

~ If you feel you have received a defective or incorrect product, please email us and attach thorough pictures within the 3 day return period and we will discuss it with you. If you have indeed received such product (which is a rare case), you will then be instructed to mail it back (shipping back to us will be paid for by Madison Hair Collection) and the wig or topper will be repaired or replaced at our cost and then mailed back out to you. This will NOT entitle you to return it with a waived restock fee. You can of course choose to simply return it, however the restock fee will still apply if this option is chosen.

~ If you wish to send a wig or topper back, please follow these steps:

1. Proceed to our returns portal: https://madisonwigsboutique.com/a/returns  Here you will be required to enter your order number and email and walk through the steps to create your return. Please note this must be done within 3 days of receiving your item, the day you receive it being day 1.

2. We will confirm your refund within 24 hours and you will receive an email regarding this confirmation. From there, you have another 24 hours to ship the wig back to the address provided below. If this occurs on a Sunday, you will have until end of day Monday to ship the piece back. Please do not require a signature with your package as this may delay us getting it by up to a week. Please allow 2 weeks after we receive your package and after it has been inspected for the refund to be processed.3. Please ensure that you write your NAME and ORDER NUMBER on a piece of paper and put it into the return so we know who is sending it and can verify the wig is matching your return request.

If the wig has already shipped, standard return fees will apply.

Please order carefully to ensure you do not need to cancel your order.

Do you offer a payment plan?

At this time we do not offer payment plans like Sezzle or AfterPay.

We accept all major credit cards as well as Paypal. Paypal also offers a payment plan through the Paypal service so you might consult them if you wish to have a payment plan.

Can you ship in discreet packaging?

Yes, all of our packages will just state "Madison Hair Collection" on them. We do not use the term 'wig' on the packaging.
